FORT WORTH – The “Pull ‘Em Up” campaign to combat sagging pants could be coming soon to police car bumpers and recreation center walls.

Mayor Mike Moncrief suggested Tuesday that the campaign – active in Fort Worth since at least January – should be expanded to include bumper stickers on city vehicles as well as signs at places where youth gather.

“Wherever they go with their pants down around their ankles, they’re going to see signs that say ‘Don’t do that,’ ” Mr. Moncrief said. To take a look at the rest of the AllHipHop.com interview click HERE!

I feel that that law is directly targeting young black males because white guys are rocking those tight as pants like the jonas bros wear.  you will find that most black guys sag their pants.  THe last time I checked what you wear had no direct influence on your character.  Guys dress that way cause it’s what is fly to them.  Now I do think it is dumb when you are a 30 in the waist and your pants are a 45 in the waist, but in no way should you get ticketed or even thrown in jail for that.  If that is the case then the next thing you know they will be puttign girls in jail for midrif tops and short shorts/skirts.  It’s all dumb.  One thing that society is afraid of is a black man and this is just an easy way to get them on something to try and insure that every black male regardless has some notch on his record on file.  I support plies for taking a stand just anther reason why he is one of my favorites in the game.

The policing of fashion has long been the province of sharp-clawed style mavens, but local politicians in a Florida town decided to give the job to law enforcement. City authorities in Riviera Beach, Fla., passed an ordinance earlier this year declaring it “unlawful for any person to appear in public or in view of the public wearing pants below the waist which expose the skin or undergarments.” The offending style, of course, was the hip-hop-influenced saggy-pants fashion, popular primarily among young black men who let their pants drop and expose a few inches of their boxer shorts. But the city fathers of Riviera Beach could have a hard time convincing the local judiciary that the ordinance is constitutionally valid.
